Location
This permanent park and ride in Edmonton is part of the Capital Line South LRT Extension and is located at the corner of Ellerslie Road and 127 Street. The facility is right next to the Capital Line South LRT Extension, which takes you all the way up to Century Park.
Current Capacity
Currently, it has 1,100 stalls with 2 Kiss and Ride locations. In addition, there is a storm pond (Stormwater Management Facility) just north of the lot.
In the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) bus transit center itself, there are 15 bays. Plus, there is a heated building for passengers to wait in. For those who are outside, there are also some unheated sheltered waiting areas.
Future Plans
Expect more to come in the future for Heritage Valley Park N Ride. This will depend on how needs change and how much funding is available.
For example, there will eventually be 1,900 parking stalls. There may also be the addition of 20 bus bays. This will help to comfortably accommodate the growing population in Edmonton.
In December 2020, there will also be the start of a shuttle service. This shuttle will go to and from Century Park Transit Centre all the way to Ellerslie Road. The travel time will be approximately 12 minutes, one way.
There is a tentative plan to have the shuttle run every 5 minutes during peak hours on weekdays. Off-peak, the shuttle will run every 10 to 15 minutes, including weekends.
In addition, there will be a future interchange along 135 Street and Anthony Henday Drive, as well as a future Heritage Valley Trail next to the Heritage Valley Park N Ride.
Last, but not least, there are going to be new and more efficient bus routes, which will be determined by Edmonton City’s Bus Network Redesign project.
